Black March, a poem by Stevie Smith (1902-1971)
I have a friend /At the end / Of the world. / His name is a breath / Of fresh air. / He is dressed in / Grey chiffon. / At least / I think it is chiffon. / It has a / Peculiar look, like smoke. / It wraps him round / It blows out of place / It conceals him / I have not seen his face. / But I have seen his eyes, they are / As pretty and bright / As raindrops on black twigs / In March, and heard him say: / I am a breath / Of fresh air for you, a change / By and by. / Black March I call him / Because of his eyes / Being like March raindrops / On black twigs. / (Such a pretty time when the sky / Behind black twigs can be seen / Stretched out in one / Uninterrupted / Cambridge blue as cold as snow.) / But this friend / Whatever new names I give him / Is an old friend. He says: / Whatever names you give me / I am /A breath of fresh air, / A change for you.

epiphany day
- dreamt of dying (in my garden a tiny curtain of intense vapour was coming out from the soil, which was sort of 'boiling': I walked towards it, just in order to see it better with a curious and happy mood, realizing that it directly came out from the earth. I also told Nini something just to get her attention in respect to that phenomenon. She kept a certain distance, engaged in another activity near the garden. The little thread of vapour suddenly became a dense fog distributed all around me, obscuring the visual field. I felt immediately a sense of choking, as if all the oxygen was pulled out from the air in an instant; my heart did a strong and deep bounce in my chest. I just thought "It's over, I'm dying...", with a sense of wonder mixed with tranquillity and simply fell straight down with the whole body and hit my face against the grass of the lawn. I woke up.);
- dreamt that my mother was dead, exploding in tears;
- wondered about an ikea christmas table dressed with plants and moss, while having breakfast;
- found and took picture of an onion which had beautiful green/yellowish sprouts;
- participated in an anti-fascist march, after I heard music and chants outside my weekend job's place (elderly people at the window joined us singing and waving);
- received a very absurd monkey cry mockery from some young street hooligan outside the youth center, pretending they wanted to enter, while I was turning down the heater;
- reached a new biker pub with my friends and ate a 'Misfits' sandwich :);
- admired the subtlety of the Duran Duran Duran name (or the one of the phrase "1, 2, 4" by A.) and sung a lot together with Mark E. Smith playing on A.'s car stereo ("What-the-hell-UH")...
WOW, What a dense day!
